  • Quiz Night

Yup, It's ready and waiting to hit your screens at 9PM GMT over on the Official Quick Quiz channel!

I warn you, though, that you may need to put on your flares and stick some flowers in your hair... ;)

  • No Way Back

That's it. This is the point of no return. The job application has been completed and is winging its way to the relevant personnel right now.

Now I can relax a bit before panicking about the cosy little chat. *wibble*

  • I Return Bearing Great News

First news story is that sometime this afternoon Lappy died. :( Well, it was getting a little old and cranky, so at ten to five I left work and headed for Curry's and picked up a smart new lappy for less than £400. I'm not sure if it will be worth trying to get the old lappy fixed but in the mean time I'm going to start downloading software that I had on the old one onto this nice shiny new one. Most of the stuff I had was free, so there's no problem there.

I've already got AVG and Live Messenger, so that's the basics sorted!

Next, the really good news. This afternoon a job offer dropped onto my desk. A job at the Academy Media Centre doing exactly the same job as I'm doing at the moment, yet at a higher pay grade. I have previously stated that I would like to get out of Graphics/Repro, but this is just too good to be true. Good words have been put forward for me by my boss and, provided I put in my application before Thursday, I should expect to have a nice cosy chat with my prospective employers.

    Fingers crossed, folks! :D

  • Emotional Constipation

Back, briefly, from my break. Check this!

Thanks for your definition of emotional constipation!

Editors reviewed your entry and have decided to publish it on urbandictionary.com.

It should appear on this page in the next few days:

    Urban Dictionary

    emotional constipation

That feeling when you just really couldn't give a shit.

"I was going to vote for Jedward on the X Factor, but just couldn't be bloody bothered"

"Man, I've been feeling like that for weeks. We both have emotional constipation."

  • Definitely This Time

I'm shutting down, unless something major happens in my life.

I will, of course, try to keep up with everyone else, so that I'm not too far out of the loop on my return so don't be surprised if I pass a comment occasionally.

The Wednesday quizzes will still be there, but possibly little else.

I need to concentrate on finding my ideal job, so regular blogging is going to have to take its place on the back burner for now.

  • Lest We Forget

    LEST WE FORGET

In mind of all servicemen and women past and present, and their families and friends.
Bless you all for your efforts for this country and this society. You will not be forgotten

  • Closing Down

I'm going to shut up shop for a while for personal and technical reasons.

The technical reason is to repair the damage that occurred even before the tagging debacle.
The personal reason is just that. Personal.

I'll be back. Hopefully sometime soon.

This applies to all my blogs, except for the Official Quick Quiz, which will be there every Wednesday at 9pm GMT.

Catch you all later, unless you're on Facebook. In which case, I'll see you next time you gift me a bloody pizza. ;)

    November 5: Piglet Flu

During times of pandemic, the common flu is known as Piglet Flu. While less deadly than Swine Flu it still makes you feel like shit. However, because it is not infamous like swine flu you get no respect from having it. So you feel like crap and no one gives a damn because you don't have h1n1.

    Doctor: How do you feel.
    Patient: Like shit.
Doctor: Well the tests came back, you don't have swine flu. So get the hell out you lazy good for nothing bastard. Come back with a real illness.

Patient (as he is thrown out) But i really do have the flu. Even if it is only piglet flu.

    ;)

  • Diggy-diggy!

    Date: Saturday 28th November 2009
    Time: 10:00 am
    Location: Horsell Common

I'll be there! My first archaeological dig, organised by HCPS, of the two tumuli on the common just about a mile from where I live.

What's this? I hear you, me beloved readers, ask. Has NotBob gone mad? We all know his main interests are science, rock music, drinking and moaning about work! Why the sudden interest in archaeology?

I think it's down to watching hours and hours of Time Team. ;D
